Abstract:

Encyclopedia of New religious movements edited by Peter B. Clarke provides a truly engaging and authentic view of the emerging religious movements on a background of the universe. This encyclopedia, containing 428 articles from leading academics, studies the remarkable examples of religious movements emerging in each continent. Clarke as an editor has written a higher income as "New Religions as a global phenomenon", a "Resource guide of NRM" and a useful article entitled "Typology of New religions" in this encyclopedia. This encyclopedia is a leading, research, updating, important, and valuable reference for academic libraries. However, the encyclopedia suffers from some disadvantages, among which we can refer to apparent contradictions in Index, the incidence of historical errors, print, etc., in its context and putting NRM identified with the Cults, sects, and counter-culture groups

Abstract:

To produce New hybrids and study the combining ability of New sunflower inbred lines, 60 F1 hybrids derived from crossing between 30 inbred lines and 2 testers along with Azargol, SHF81-85, SHF81-90 and Cms1052/1*14 as checks were evaluated using simple lattice design with two replications in Agricultural Research Station of Islamabad-e-Gharb in 2011. Analysis of variance showed that genotypes were significantly different for all recorded traits except days to end of flowering and seed oil content. Hybrids B86-353.1AF81-196, B86-284.1AF81-196 and B86-345.1AF81-196 had the highest seed yield (5583, 5331 and 5235 kgha-1, respectively). Combining ability analysis using design II of Comstock and Robinson showed that general combining ability of inbred lines and testers for seed yield was significant at 1% level. Inbred lines B86-353, B86-284 and B86-345 had the highest general combining ability for seed yield, whereas inbred lines B86-373.2 and B86-382.2 had the highest negative combining ability for days to maturity. Specific combining ability effect was significant for some agronomic traits such as seed yield, head diameter, plant height and days to maturity. The highest specific combining ability for seed yield belonged to hybrids B86-300.2AF81-112 and B86-346.2AF81-112. Hybrid B86-287.1AF81-196 had the highest negative specific combining ability for days to maturity.

In order to adopt appropriate strategies in facing New technologies, it is necessary to know the possible futures of the construction industry. This research was done with the aim of explaining the technological uncertainties and compiling the future scenarios of the construction industry.  Method: The research method is applied and was carried out with a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. First, the library study was used to determine the technological drivers, then the Structural Analysis was used to explain the technological uncertainties, and finally, the Schwartz method was used to compile the scenarios. The statistical population is experts of construction industry. Findings: Nine technological uncertainties affecting the future of the construction industry have been identified and for each of them, three states of decline, stagnation and progress have been considered. Data analysis by Scenario Wizard shows eight probable scenarios. The portfolio of scenarios including four groups of progress scenarios, towards progress, towards stagnation, and towards wane has been compiled. Conclusion: In the progress scenario, the 89% of uncertainties have developed. In  towards progress, 56% of the factors are in the development status, which indicates the development of the technological factor application. In the stagnation scenario, no progress has been made in the application of uncertainties and they are in a static state. In towards wane, uncertainties have been placed in a situation of reduced use.

Abstract:

CANCER IS AN IMPORTANT HEALTH ISSUE THAT CAN BE REMOVED BY SURGERY OR HAS TO BE TREATED BY CHEMOTHERAPY IN COMBINATION WITH RADIOTHERAPY AND SURGERY. HOWEVER, MOST CHEMOTHERAPEUTIC AGENTS EMPLOYED ARE CYTOTOXIC AGENTS AND SUFFER SEVERAL LIMITATIONS INCLUDING LACK OF SELECTIVITY TOWARD TUMOR CELLS, AND EMERGENCE OF DRUG RESISTANCE. ONE APPROACH TO IMPROVE THE THERAPEUTIC EFFECTIVENESS IS THROUGH THE DESIGN OF TARGETED ANTICANCER PRODRUGS [1]. CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE IS A WIDELY USED ANTICANCER AGENT. HOWEVER, THE CLINICAL USE OF THE TITLED DRUG IS ASSOCIATED WITH A LIFE-THREATENING SIDE EFFECT. TO REDUCE THE SIDE EFFECT AND FIND MORE POTENT ANTICANCER DRUG, NUMEROUS MODIFICATIONS FOR CP HAVE BEEN PERFORMED OVER 50 YEARS [2]. IN THE OTHER HAND, DUE TO KEY ROLES OF PHOSPHORUS COMPOUNDS IN CELLS METABOLISM AND THEIR POTENTIAL TO SERVE AS PHARMACEUTICALS AND AGRICULTURAL AGENTS, THESE MOLECULES ARE POPULAR TARGETS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF New BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE COMPOUNDS. IN THIS STUDY, THE NOVEL DERIVATIVES WITH GENERAL FORMULA -C(O)NHP(O)OCH2C(CH3)2CH2O WERE SYNTHESIZED BY FOLLOWING THE REACTION PROCEDURE. THE FIRST, RC(O)NHP(O)CL2 (R=C6H5, 4-CH3OC6H4, 4-NO2C6H4) WERE PREPARED SIMILAR TO THE PROCEDURE BY KIRSANOV ET AL [3]. AFTERWARD, 2, 2-DIMETHYLPROPANDIOL WAS ADDED DROP WISE TO SOLUTION OF PHOSPHOR AMIDIC DICHLORIDE AT 0OC. THE MIXTURE WAS SUBSEQUENTLY ALLOWED TO WARM TO ROOM TEMPERATURE. AFTER STIRRING FOR 24 H, THE WHITE PRODUCTS WERE FILTERED OFF AND THEN WASHED WITH H2O. THE PRODUCTS WERE CHARACTERIZED BY 13C, 31P, 1H NMR AND IR SPECTROSCOPY. BESIDES, THE ANTITUMOR ACTIVITY OF CYCLOPHOSPHAMIDE AS A CONTROL, AND New ANALOGUES WERE DETERMINED AGAINST HELA AND PC-3 CELL lines BY APPLYING THE MTT COLORIMETRIC ASSAY. WE INVESTIGATED THE INFLUENCE OF SUBSTITUENT ON THE PHENYL RING ON THE ACTIVITY AGAINST THE STUDIED CELL lines.

Abstract:

Background and Objectives: Determination of morphological characteristics of different promising lines of rice and the effects they have on yield can be considered a good tool for identification of preferable lines with ideal agronomical traits. Materials and Methods: In order to evaluate the most important characteristics of cultivars affecting yield in 2017, a field experiment was conducted in a research farm of Sari University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, in a randomized complete block design with three replications, in 5 square meters plots with 25×25 space between them. Morphological characteristics include plant height, panicle length and number measured before harvest in the farm, as well as other characteristics after harvest in laboratory. At the end of growth season, panicles were harvested and collected in separate bags and were selected randomly for measurement of their morphological characteristics. Mean comparisons were calculated with Duncan method in 5% level of possibility. Also, variance analysis was calculated for all the traits. Cluster analysis was calculated with ward method. The genotypes were 30 promising lines of rice. In this study, 10 traits including plant height, panicle length, panicle number, total number of grains, number of filled grains, grain length, grain diameter, grain length to width ratio, 1000 grain weight and yield were evaluated. Results Correlation analysis results showed that there was a positive and significant correlation between yield and number of panicles, number of filled grains and 1000 grain weight, but the length of the grain had a negative significant correlation with yield. The results of path analysis showed that the number of filled grains had the highest direct effect (0. 67), and, after that, the number of panicles (0. 59) and grain width (0. 47) had the highest effect on yield. Therefore, based on the results obtained from this study, number of panicles and number of filled grains as selection index on rice yield improvement were identified. The results of cluster analysis of the studied lines were also classified into four groups. The genotypes in the second and the third, in addition to the higher yields, had the lower height, number of tillers and more grain number. The average deviation of clusters from total mean was calculated for these lines and the existence of this deviation can demonstrate diversity. The genotypes in the second group add up to 57% of all the genotypes, which is above the total mean in traits including panicle number, grain length, grain diameter, 1000 grain weight and yield. Discussion: According to the results: of this study, the highest lines in terms of yield and other agronomical characteristics were 8, 13, 14, 15 and 28. Also, traits including number of panicles and filled grain number can be considered selecting factors for improvement of rice yield.

Abstract:

At the recent years, many sunflower restorer lines (Rf-lines) have been derived from exotic sunflower hybrids in Seed and Plant Improvement Institute at Karaj. Twenty four of these New Rf-lines (Resistant to Plasmopara halstedii), were crossed with three testers at the Oilseed Crops Research Department. Sixty hybrid combinations were evaluated in replicated field trials to estimate the general combining ability (GCA), and the gene effects. Analysis of the general combining ability for the grain yield and seed oil content showed that R-43, R-72, R-82, R-217, R-231, R-256, R-103, R-87, R-55 and R-45 for grain yield and R-43, R-256, R-46, R-87 and R-45 for oil seed content had high GCA values. Evaluation of gene effects indicated the involvement of additive and nonadditive effects for plant height, growth duration, head diameter, 1000 seed weight, grain yield and merely additive effect for seed oil content.
